irregular periodsFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 26 Jan 1998 19:21:28 -0600 (CST)
I am twenty-one years old and have had a regular period since I was 11 up until recently. Most recently my periods come every two weeks sometimes every week. I had a yearly pap last month and I told them that all of a sudden that my periods were irregular but there seemed to be little concern. My results from the pap were normal, yet my periods continue to be irregular. I have been on the birth control pill before but I got pregnant and had a miscarriage. I am hesitant to start on that again. I also have a family history of ovarian cysts--my mom, grandma, and one aunt all had them, and last year, a different aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might do besides maybe get a second opinion? Thanks. My email address is anonymous@obgyn.net.
