Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: POF AGE 38" I have just been diagnosed with premature ovarian failure.I didn't get my period for 3 months and have had hot flushes since I last had my period. Blood tests revealed pof. I do not care about fertility as I already have 2 children. My concerns are: Osteo runs in my family. (pof does not). I am worried about my bones but also about getting cancer from taking hrt for the next 10 years. Would it be good to perhaps get a hysterectomy and then only take estrogen rather than estrogen & progesterone? What is your opinion. My biggest problem is not knowing anyone else who is going through this I feel prematurely old .
