Ovarian Cyst - Mucinous Cystadenoma? Pain in hip, leg Cancer? From: Joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 11 Jan 1998 00:42:00 -0600 (CST)
Hi I have been diagnosed as having a mucinous cystadenoma of the left ovary approximately 15cm x 11cm and have a left salpingo-oophonetry (removal of ovary and mass) scheduled in 3 weeks. THe cyst itself is causing some lower back pain although I am experiencing a lot of difficulty with my hip - legs. Waking up with blue tinged feet, a consistent aching in my leg and some numbness.(I am assuming this cyst is pushing on something to cause this pain?) The ultrasound results were "most likely" mucinous cystadenoma or another type I don't remember the name but it was something carcenoma I think. I am very worried that this cyst may be cancerous even though my gynecologist has said she is 100% sure that this is a totally benign mass as. How can the gynecologist be sure it is a benign cyst? Just wondered if anyone had any comments on this cyst or the hip pain. My surgery is scheduled in 3 weeks time - so I guess I will get my answers then. Sorry this is so long - lots going on in my head, and thanks for reading my post.
