Dear Drs., Howdy, Was just reading the posts about epidurals and it reminded me of my friend prego with her first kid... She is ruling out an epidural and or spinal block (if need be c-section) because she claims to have heard of people being Permanantly paralyzed by the anesthesia. I told her that she should keep her options open etc etc...and that the chances of that happening were like one in one zillion, but is there even that risk? any statistics? even heard of anybody with a paralyzation? Seemed A little dim witted and 1st mommish to me but if there is such a problem... Anyway thoughts on the subject would enlighten me :) Thanks Anne N.
