had the endometrial biopsy, should I stop worrying now?

I'm 41 years old. Regular cycles. I had an endometrial biopsy in November because of abnormal bleeding. The results came back normal. Still have the abnormal bleeding, and doctor has suggested (1) sit tight and see what happens, (2) birth control pills for a couple of months if the bleeding doesn't stop on its own, and (3) D&C if the pill doesn't set things straight.

What I want to ask you all is, should I stop worrying that the bleeding is a sign of something serious? If I were your patient, would you do any other diagnostic stuff before heading to the BCP or D&C steps in this plan of action?
