Re: Almost 7 weeks pregnant, no constipation and no frequentFrom: Carolyn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 08 Jan 1998 06:37:40 PST
Cynthia, I'm on my 4th pregnancy (the third ended in miscarriage in Sept of 97) and am just over 5 weeks. I can understand your fears and while I don't know nothing about the possible side effects of progesterone, I can talk to your other symptoms. Every woman reacts to pregnancy different...and each woman rarely has two identical pregnancies. Mine were pretty close. I considered myself lucky that my only real side effects were being tired and sore breasts (as they began their exponential climb outwards!). I didn't suffer any nausea or constipation (well, not until I was put on extra iron around 6 months). I also didn't suffer from hemmroids until AFTER delivery. If you escape any of the less desirable symptoms celebrate! As for the urinating...is it possible that you aren't drinking enough water? I TRY to drink at least 3-20oz sport bottles of water/day. And even then I'm not necessarily urinating that often. Again I just consider myself lucky that I'm not spending my every waking hour with my backside attached to the porcelein basin...because I KNOW that will change once the baby gets big enough to exert a little pressure on my bladder. I understand that it's not easy to relax, considering your history, but try not to interpret NOT having some of the less desirable pregnancy symptoms as a bad thing. Good Luck. Carolyn PS. At 7 weeks they should be able to find a heartbeat with an US. This might set your mind at ease a bit. Is it a possibility?
