Hormone DeficiencyFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 6 Jan 1998 21:33:37 -0600 (CST)
I am a 31 year old fairly healthy female. When I was 17, I hadn't yet started my period nor began developing. I was diagnosed as having a hormone deficiency and put on premarin and provera. I started my period and began to develop. When I was 22, I was no longer on my parents' health insurance. I paid for doctors visits and meds out of my pocket but could no longer afford it. Now I am 31 and have health insurance (HMO). My doctor has taken blood but says she finds nothing wrong. I don't have my period and I don't feel "normal". I probably should switch doctors but I also have asthma and I'm afraid in switching I wouldn't be able to get my inhaler easily. Does anyone know of my condition? No doctors seem to have any cases like mine and it's been very frustrating. I also have no sense of smell which is somehow linked to my hormone deficiency. Please help! Thank You!
