7 Wks. Post TAHFrom: Donna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 6 Jan 1998 09:07:21 -0600 (CST)
Today I am 7 weeks post TAH. I still have some swelling above my incission and I still have some pain on the right side of my incission. How long will this swelling continue? Should I be having pain on my right side? It seems to bother me more when the swelling is worse. I have just started to do laundry and vaccuming and was wondering if maybe I am doing too much. I spoke with the nurse last week and she said I could start doing more as I felt like it. My strength is getting better as I am anemic because of the surgery. I read a post today that a woman had a TAH 4 weeks ago and has been completley released. I don't understand why I am still having swelling and pain. I am 31 years old and should recover faster than this. I am a very healthy person. I am afraid to do any excersices because of the swelling. Should I be walking more? It seems like the more I walk the worse the swelling is. I am so confused as to what to do. I have only seen my doctor at my 2 weeks post op. I have another appt. on Jan. 22. Isn't this too long between visits? Thank you for any advice you can give me. Donna
