Dear Drs, I just thought of something and thought I would ask about it. My mom is 54, post menopausal,post stroke, high blood pressure, 95 lb weakling. she sees a blood pressure dr. once every 6 months or so to check her out. She has glaucoma and emphysema( smoked for 35 years) and has a horrible problem eating enough.She hasn't been to a GYN since my brother was born 21 years ago. ( yes I know, sounds awful but you try and tell her) Well ANYWAY...at her last appt her BP dr. scheduled a sigmoid coloscopy for her. She said it sounded unpleasant and she said he did not tell her what it was for. I was wondering what is this procedure and why they would schedule it for her. she doesn't eat very good and is very skinny and I was wondering if this might be a reason...
