Sarah, I responded earlier to your note but response seems to have disappeared. I mentioned that the drug I have been on for several months in prep for surgery seems to duplicate the menopausal experience and if this is as bad as it gets I can definitely live with that - hot flashes and insomnia are preferable to the fibroid problems. I mentioned also that problems I have had with suspicious paps, breast lumps(benign) and fibroids have just brought me to the point of not wanting to take the chance that one more organ(or is it two) will create a life threatening situation. At 50, I am comfortable with the decision to have ovaries removed. However, if I run into problems such as you describe I expect to be tenacious about resolving the problem(and I hope you will do the same). Thank you for sharing your experience and please continue to pursue some of the suggestions that were made by others on this web. In this day and age you shouldn't give up. thanks again..
