Sarah, thank you for sharing your experience regarding removal of your ovaries. I hope that some of the responses to your note will help you find the answer. As to my situation, I have been on a drug called lupron for the past three months to hopefully make a vaginal hysterectomy possible. Because the drug has thrust me into menopausal symptoms and I have had no periods I believe this is similar to what will happen after I have my ovaries removed. The hot flashes and insomnia seem to be the only annoying problems and are nothing in comparison to dealing with the fibroids in the last year. I'm hoping that I will feel as good as I do now and I really think that at age 50 haing dealt with suspicious paps, breast lumps(cysts, etc.) and now fibroids I would rather have the piece of mind that will come with getting rid of one more(or is two)organ that can create a life threatening situation without any warning signals. If there was such a thing as a mammogram for ovaries and I was younger I might make a different decision. In any event, I hope you will be tenacious about finding an answer to your problems as it would seem in this day and age with phenomenal medical strides you could find an answer to bring life back to your life. Good luck....
