cervical cancer vs. ectopic pg. emergency? A month ago, she said she was having minor surgery, and was taking darvon w. tylenol to control pain. A couple of weeks later, she said it was a biopsy for cervical cancer, and would be in a month, and she was up to demeral for the pain because the darvon was no longer enough. This all sounded incongruous to me, so I started reading. Now, I'm worried about her. If the pain is due to cancer, does that mean it's really advanced? Why such a long wait for a biopsy, unless they've written her off as hopeless? She gave birth nine months ago. If she had cancer, wouldn't a pap smear have turned that up in the prenatal workups? What if it's not cancer, but a tubal pregnancy? would demeral pain suppression mask the need for treatment, and put her at greater risk of potentially fatal rupture?
