Possible explanations range from premature menopause (I think from a prior post you are pretty young??) to thyroid malfunction to a low grade infection to endometriosis to some really wierd stuff. Have you traveled to any foreign countries recently? (that falls in the category of "wierd stuff", a highly technical medical term ;-) ) I also agree that an ultrasound is in order. Good luck
