unexplained chronic vaginal painFrom: anjali (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Dec 1997 16:43:34 -0600 (CST)
To whom this may concern I am a 21 year old university student here in Hamilton, Ontario. I went away to India in May '97 and developed pelvic (specifically, vaginal) pain one month into my visit. I am not sexually active. I was however taking the birth control pill to regulate my very irregular periods. I suddenly stopped taking the pill around the same time the pain developed. It has now been six months since my return and the pain continues. I have been to over 5 specialists, had an MRI, cat scan, ultrasounds, x-rays, blood, stool, and urine cultures, as well as a laproscopy and they have all been clear. I also had the routine pelvic exam in July which showed nothing. last week I had a barium test and that also showed nothing. I have taken every pain killer available and nothing seems to work. The pain in the beginning was so severe that I could not sit, stand or lie. Although it has subdued from that state, it still continues to be very painful. It has become very hard to live with and frustrating because no doctor can figure it out. I am very desperate for an answer and a solution. The pain is a very unbearable type to be living with. If there is ANYONE out there who may have an idea as to what this may be or knows where else I may go to find out, could they please reply to this message. It is much appreciated. My email address is tandona@muss.cis.mcmaster.ca if anyone has questions. Thank you.
