Dear Jo Ann,
I, too, am in the same boat. I have learned that my itching & burning is driven by a metabolic imbalance which resulted in damaged nerves (neuropathy). I am a fibromyalgia/CFIDS patient. Other metabolic disorders can cause the same outcome. If they can get to the bottom of the agent driving the imbalance, then I believe that a cure would result. I tested positive to "stealth virus" infection this year. This was a test performed through molecular medicine by the Center for Complex Infectious Disease in Rosemead, California. Metabolic disorders are something I see rarely discussed. I think the medical community needs to wake-up and realize that there are many "invisible" diseases out there driving these situations. If I, a lay person, can figure this out through diligent searching and alternative testing, why can't they? Metabolic problems can sometimes be assisted (not cured) through diet intervention. I'm currently looking at the proper use of phosphatidyl serine (a nutrient supplement) in the alleviation of nerve damage symptoms. This product is over-the-counter (OTC). I hope this info helps many of you out there.
