Endo relief after quitting BCPs?

Hi everyone! I stopped taking my BCPs 3 days ago (diagnosed with possible thrombophlebitis) and I was just curious about something. When my son was born in May, my endo pain returned after just 3 weeks, even though I was BF. By the time I got my period back in Aug, it was so painful I could barely walk. I began taking Ortho-Tricyclen, and the pain began to diminish within a week. Then my RE told me to attempt pregnancy again if I wanted anymore children, so I quit the pills after two weeks and tried to get PG for the next 2 1/2-3 months, with no luck--I only had 1 period. When I started the pills again (took them for 2 months), I experienced no relief, only increasing pain. Now that I've been removed from them, the pain seems to be diminishing somewhat, even though I'm due to start my period. Why would the pills help one time and not another? Just curious...

Take care, Melissa in KY.
