Gallbladder problemsFrom: Vivian (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Dec 1997 09:09:34 -0600 (CST)
When I was pregnant I started having a terrible pain in my right side about halfway through my pregnancy. I had sonograms of all the organs in the vicinity, and the doctors decided my gallbladder wasn't functioning properly. One doc said it would go away after pregancy, another said I would likely have to have the gallbladder out. As I am now contemplating another pregnancy, I am wondering about my chances of this happening again. I occasionally do have the same pain now, although not nearly as severe. If a person has their gallbladder removed, how long before she can become pregnant? I have also since learned that gallbladder problems run in my mother's family, if that makes any difference. Thanks for your help.
