Abnormal bleeding/painful intercourseFrom: Cindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Dec 1997 08:48:43 -0600 (CST)
I am a 37 y.o. female. No history of any gynecological problems. Recently presented with midcycle spotting. Was told that it was hormonal and not to worry. Last annual exam was normal. I was told I had cervical eversion. Two weeks after seeing doctor I started to spot about one week before my period was due and the spotting continued until my period started. When my period started it was heavy with a lot of clotting and very painful. I had pain in my lower right back and hip that extended down my leg and into my groin. I returned to my doctor who examined me once again and found nothing unusual. He ordered an ultrasound "just to make sure" and told me that the pain in my back and hip was coming from back problems. Several days later I began bleeding again, heavier than the previous month. I had the ultrasound (which was normal) and then I sought a second opinion. The second doctor found a cervical polyp which he was able to remove. That seems to have corrected the bleeding problem. However, I still have the back and hip pain, which I also feel during intercourse. Any suggestions. Thanks for your time.
