amennorhea and hypothyroid

Hi,

I haven't had a period since about 9/19/97. I thought I was pregnant, but HPT negative. So, I went to my Gyn. and he said no also. He had a TSH done for thyroid. It turns out that I am hypothyroid. I have been on generic Synthroid for 6 days. However, I am wondering if my periods are ever going to start again? Also, is it possible to get pregnant when I am not having periods? I was just wondering if I am still ovulating or if anything is happening in there at all. Any answers you could give me would be wonderful as this has been a little stressful.

Thank You,
