Re: Me againFrom: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 19 Dec 1997 14:48:07 -0600 (CST)
Dear Laura, Hi there. I am not a doctor first, but I read up on cycles, ovulation etc in a book called Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. I was at the time concerned about ovulation and getting pregnant. I was about 110 lbs before I got pregnant. In this book and from my Reproductive Endocrinologist I was told to gain some weight. The reason: Even though I was not anorexic or anything like that, extremely thin people may not ovulate. No ovulation---no menstrual period. The bleeding I was experiencing was ANOVULATORY bleeding and it can be sporadic. If you are exercising (like I was) this can also throw your cycle off. It might be something to bring up with your NP. She can meaure body fat and see if you are ovulating. It might be that simple. Definately talk about it though. Hope this might give you some help.
