When one is occupied with some other item, one does not notice pain near as much. This is the principal upon which the Lamaze method works. Basically it gets you so focused on breathing that you don't notice the discomfort. As a rule polycystic ovaries do not cause pain, they tend to cause irregular cycles and infertility, and sometimes excess hair growth.
