I appreciate the time you took in answering my question....now I have another otherwise I will surely die of stress before my exam tommorrow!

what kind of problems does having excess fluid cause on the baby? I know the baby is larger than expected already(measured ahead each week by at least 2 weeks) then this last 6 cm growth in a week and at 28 week gestational age was estimated at 30-31 weeks on an ultrasound to check fluid and weight and with having 3 ultrasounds, unless the other will be a spy when it grows up, twins is ruled out. As for dates, at 10 weeks gest age was 10w3d at 18weeks it was 18w2d and then at 28 weeks gest age was 30-31 weeks with baby at 3#5oz. So dates could be wrong but the first 2 U/S confirmed the due date. I have blood pressure problems mainly the top number in the 150-160 range with bottom number normal andtaking procardia for the bp problems, could this have any effect? Baby has been super active, got info on the kick tests, and he usually has the 10 movements in an hour done by 15 min!

Would a problem with the baby be something that occured after the last fluid check at 28 weeks?

Thanks! Still not totally freaking yet, was worried about fluid level before you mentioned it...of course this measurement was made by the maternal-fetal specialist not my ob who has done all the measurements to this point..so still hoping it was an interpretation difference.... Thanks so much!!!!!

>> I am 31 weeks and just measured 38 weeks, last week I measured 31.5 andin the last week I have gained 3 lbs. Is there any reason to worry?

>There are a number of possible reasons why one would measure "size
>greater than dates." In no particular order, they are:
>
>* Baby is larger than expected (doubtful at 31 weeks)
>* Your due date is off and you are further along than expected.
>* There is excess amniotic fluid, called polyhydramnios.
>* There is more than one baby.

>In any event, most doctors will either remeasure in a week, or, more
>often, schedule an ultrasound to look for excess fluid or twins. It's
>usually a false alarm. However, excess fluid is sometimes a marker of
>problems for the baby, so this is something most doctors and midwives
