lower abdominal/pelvic pain

Dear Drs. I'm having irregular pains before/around ovulation on my right side, about 3 inches below my navel and half way over to my pelvic bone. This month the pain lasted about 3 days, and was somewhat constant; it almost felt as though I was going to burst (like an extremely full bladder does), and would occassionally "act up" when I would stand up or move too fast. We've been trying to get pregnant for a little over a year now. (I had a miscarriage during the 13th week of my first pregnancy in Oct'96, and had a D&C.) I've been taking my BBT everyday and did not have a fever(my temperature was 98 or lower during these three days) alleviating my anxiety of appendecitis. THe pain began on the day of my lowest temperature (97.3, day 10 of my cycle). I got my period 4 weeks after the D&C. For the past year my cycles have ranged from 25-32 days, with the past 6 months on the shorter side; and last month the ovulation test was positive on day 12 of my cycle (my temp was lowest on day 11; cycle lasted 27 days). However, this month the OPT results indicate I still have not yet ovulated this month. Last night, I also had short, sharp pains on my leftside (what I always thought was Mittleshmertz), and intercourse was somewhat painful. And today, (day 13, temp 98)I feel fine with no pain on either side. Also, FYI, during Sept and Oct during ovulation I had minor spotting, but haven't had any since. I have talked to my doctor about these things, but she doesn't seem responsive, as no action has been taken. I've requested to have a HSG twice now, but she wanted my husband to go for a semen analysis first (which tested normal). Are these pains normal and common? Any ideas what they may be? I never had any problems prior to my miscarriage (we became pregnant within the first month of trying). Do you think I should look for another doctor? Looking forward to your response. Amy
