Judy-

I'm sorry to hear of your husband's infidelity. I have little tolerance for marital infidelity, as it violates the trust within a marriage, and places the spouse at risk for health problems like STDs.

The following are STDs one might consider testing for in a patient who has an unfaithful spouse:

Cultures of the cervix:

Chlamydia Gonorrhea

Blood work:

Syphilis Hepatitis B HIV

Inspection of genital organs (when lesions are present):

HPV (genital warts) Herpes Trichomonas

These are relatively easy to test for, and I'm sure your doctor would have no problem testing for these. Good luck with your upcoming surgery.
