I am 35 yrs old and a mother of 2 teens. Approx. 9 weeks ago I was rushed to the hospital with SEVERE LOWER ABDOMINAL PAIN(very similiar to labor pain but CONSTANT). It was the 4th day of my period. I was in excruciating pain and could hard- ly speak,& was also VOMITING. It took two shots of DEMEROL to finally lessen the pain. (This all lasted over 4 hours.) A BLOOD TEST showed an increased white blood cell count. I was kept overnight for observation and sent home the next day with no answers, only a prescription for antiinflamm- atories.(PONSTAN) A US(5 days later)showed no abnormalities in the pelvic area, and another blood test showed normal white blood cell count. I was in bed for week with a very sore pelvic floor area, swollen abdomen, lower back pain, no appetite and brownish colored flow. A week later a LAPAROSCOPY showed a very small area of endometriosis (behind the uterus)and a swollen (fluid filled -Hydrosaphinx?) right fallopian tube. I later found out the surgeon was a general surgeon and did not properly check my ovaries. I was refered to a GYN who thought the pain may have been a RUPTURED CYST. He did not give me an internal exam, just checked the reports and told me to come back in 3-4 mon ths, or earlier if the severe pain returned. I felt a bit better and went back to work the next week. Since then I have had 2 periods and felt awful. Three days before, during and a week after each I felt very DIZZY, BAD CRAMPS, BLOATED, HEADACHES, TIRED, and have very discomforting PAIN below my right rib cage down to my pelvic area- feels hard to touch). Would this be a sign that the CYST may still be there and growing? Would this even be a Cyst or could it be a PELVIC INFECTION or CANCER? (There is a lot of cancer in my family: both parents, 3 grandparents, 1 aunt & 3 uncles) (Note:I have always had bad cramps but only on first day. Last 2 years have had a lot of clotting (nickel size)). I plan to see the GYN next week but would like another opinion. THANKS FOR A REPLY. A very scared mother and wife.
