adenomyosisFrom: Marie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 22 Nov 1997 19:29:33 -0600 (CST)
Hi - I had an ultrasound this morning (Saturday) and now I must wait till Tuesday for 'results'. I'm getting a little fidgety. My doctor suspects adenomyosis. Most of the info I have is from those of you kind enough to share your stories on this forum. It seems hysterectomies are the norm. The woman who did my ultrasound is well respected by the OB/GYNs in our area. She is generally right on the money with the info she shares at the procedure. She is also careful not to speak of those things that she is not familiar with. In her 15 years she has not seen a uterus that has been diagnosed with adenomyosis. This is what she told me - my uterus is thick and enlarged, it is not smooth but shows no signs of fibroids, and the endometrium lining is showing bright. My other symtoms include 29 - 43 day cycle with 4 - 10 day duration, cramps (sharp, dull, throbbing, you name it), painful intercourse, lower back pain, pressure before, during, & after a BM, light headiness, fatigue, nausea, and tender abdomen. I'm not looking for any type of diagnosis, I'm just looking to compare information. It's going to be a long couple of days. Thanks, MM
