Nordette 21 - PillFrom: AK (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 22 Nov 1997 01:43:14 -0600 (CST)
Hi all. I have 2 questions regarding pills. The doctor who prescribed the pills to my partner told her to start her first cycle (last month) on the 5th day after the start of bleeding. (not sunday?) I read that ovulation could have occured during the first 5 days of bleeding so we used a back-up method of contraceptive for the whole of the first month. This is the second month now and the doctor said to start on the 5th day as well. Her period came and today's the day she will be taking the second pill. Q1. Can she go on with sex without other forms of contraceptives (instead of the pills) already? Q2. What if she finishes the 21 pills this month and her period comes about 5-10 days late. Should an alternative method of backup be used after the last pill??. (i.e. her period is not here yet) Thanks. AK
