out of the mouths of babes

Well, I went to the doctor to get my Clomid. My 3 y/o daughter was with me. I explained to her beforehand that this was a doctor who took care of women and mommies. He was going to look at my pee-pee. I had just undressed and got on the table when she looked up at me with a sweet smile and said, curiously and excitedly, "Mom, are you going to have a baby?!" "Do you have a baby growing inside?" She thought for sure that I had something hiding from her. LOL!

All I could say is no. It was funny that she put things together and asked me that. I can't believe how that mind works on her. Later when the doctor came in she said to him very professionally, "Are you going to look at her pee-pee?" Well, the poor doctor didn't know what to say to that and just agreed with her "in a sense". When it was time to leave she insisted to the office staff (and waiting room) that the doctor needed to examine her too!

All this brings up another topic. Boys would be easier. All their parts are on the outside. How do I teach my daughter some knew words other than "pee-pee". I think she's getting too big to say that at 3 1/2. Maybe it's just the doctor's reaction that is making me rethink this. What do you others think?
