Ovarian cysts and pregnancy

I have been experiencing a chronic, dull pain in my lower right abdomen with intermittant episodes of severe, debilitating pain in the same area, usually at night, for over two months. I saw an internist but he said, "let's wait and see." a month later I still have pain so I went in for a pelvic exam with my PA. She found nothing in the exam but she ordered a pelvic sonogram which showed a very small cyst on my right ovary. During this time I was on Tri-levlen 28 for birth control, though I am off it now so I can become pregnant. The questions I have are: Is it normal to develop cysts while on the pill? Will the cysts prevent conception? Will symptoms persist if I do get pregnant? Am I more likely to miscarry because of the cyst? Could I be experiencing multiple cysts that are bursting, though only one currently appears on the sonogram? Should I have the cyst(s) removed before getting pregnant?

I have many more questions, but these will suffice for now. I appreciate all the help I can get, thanks
