Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: estrogen and progesterone questions" This might be a dumb question, but I want to ask it anyway :-) When I had IVF treatment I got progesterone (Progestan) during the implantation phase. This would give the uterus a good lining and prepare it for the pregnancy. Now there seems to be an IUD which releases progesterone because this would prevent implantation. And furthermore I just learned from dr. Marchbein that estrogen-treatment is sometimes given after surgery of the uterus to speed up recovery of the tissue. I think I am totally confused by now!!
