He/she will be able to help you much more than I. Varicose veins are weaknesses in the wall of the veins. This causes a ballooning out of the side of the vein. They can be caused by excessive pressure inside the vein. The excessive pressure can come from many sources. Prolonged standing, and pregnancy are two of the most common causes. They can lead to clotting and then if they break loose they can go to the lungs and be what is known as pulmonary embolism. This can be very serious and even fatal. So see a varicose vein specialist and work on preventing these kinds of problems.
