abnormal bleeding in menopauseFrom: pat (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 11 Nov 1997 10:54:37 -0600 (CST)
I am 48; no children; have been in menopause 2 yrs. Have taken estratest without progestin for over 1 yr - except for trying provera, cycrin, aygestin several times. Each of those caused nausea and cramping so i quit them. I have had continued bleeding for several months - stopping for a few days at a time. Regular Dr suggests hysterectomy - 2nd opin Dr wants D&C and biopsy instead. Problem is cervical stenosis and extreme pain. Would have to be done in hospital. Have also heard that D&C is not best alternative. I understand need for biopsy however I wonder if anything else can be done.
