My mother in law is 74. She has a complicated medical history including tuberculosis, stomach ulcers and hiatus hernia. Since menopause, all urine tests have detected small amounts of blood in the urine. After three separate diagnostic procedure under anaesthesia (not sure exactly what they were) the specialists found no cause, except for local inflammation and redness. They have told her this is a natural result of reduction in female hormones due to menopause. She feels as though she has urinary tract infection, but tests for this are negative. She has been prescribed oestrogen(?) pessaries but they don't seem to be helping. What would exclude her from Hormone Replacement Therapy? She has never had it offered or suggested. Could this help her?
