iud post-surgery

In december I will have surgery to remove a very thick septum in my uterus. As the surgeon explained he will put an iud in my uterus to keep the two halves seperated so they won't stick together. It will have to stay there for another six weeks. Can anyone tell me if the kind of iud is important in this case? He has prescribed a Multiload cu375. I have very bad memories of this particular iud. Had it in the past and it was hell when it was placed an inferno when it was removed. My ivf-doctor remarked that this also might have to do with my having a septum this thick. She thought it was still a miracle that they managed to get it in at all! But she did'nt know if the type of iud would make a difference. Does anyone on the forum know?
