Actually, I have no idea if I have PCO. My original message was about long-term problems with acne (often cystic) and less than 100% results with Accutane. The pill I'm on now is Ortho Try-cyclin, but I was thinking (prompted by some info another woman gave me) that maybe the progesterone is only aggravating my acne rather than helping it... because I now break out when I begin a new pill pack. I might go and see an Endocrinologist about my hormone levels, and perhaps s/he could recommend the right birth control pill for me. I was just concerned about the risks associated with long-term use of BC pills, because if I'm using them to help my acne, I would have to imagine I'd be on them for quite a while. (After all, I'm 21 and my skin hasn't really improved since my teenage years.)
