Menopause and constipation

I am a 48 year-old woman whose periods stopped abruptly 1.5 years ago. The very day of that last period, my digestive tract suddenly slowed from a daily bowel movement to 3 movements per week. Fiber supplements and drinking more water have done nothing to ease this. Neither has exercise.

Is sluggishness of the bowels associated with menopause, and is there anything other than what I am already doing with fiber, fluid, and exercise to relieve it?

Thanks,
