Hi, my name is Julie Davis and new to the list. Just looking for general feedback... Was diag w/ endo '90 via lap; 2 normal pregnancies '93 and '95; recurring pain 2 weeks after baby born.. On depo provera since July '95, last shot June '97 with some pain relief until May of '97 when I began w/ the usual side endo pain and severe cramping, bloating, bleeding and heaviness in lower abdomen. Had lap w/ hysteroscopy Aug '97..endo found on ovaries, lasered off. Pictues from hysteroscopy show "spots" dispersed throughout uterus; like taking a paint brush and flinging paint drops on a wall. My doc said my uterus is markedly enlarged, soft and boggy. That, coupled w/ my increasing worsening symptoms; pain and cramps running 7 on a scale; daily bleeding severe to almost nonexistant, severe bloating; prompted my doc to diagnose me w/ adenomyosis. She has stated that until pathology is done, it cannot be certain, but she feels that is what is going on. I have decided not to bother w/ an MRI as it will not change my course of treatment at this point. Lupron is not an option for me; bcp's aren't helping, and the provera stopped being affective. I have decided to have a hysterectomy, uterus and cervix only, to hopefully "cure" my adeno. I realize the possible endo/estrogen problem in keeping my ovaries, but will deal w/ that later. My endo pain is gone since my August lap; my pain and discomfort is all mid-abdomen, and I want to get this sick organ out of me; the pain has begun to consume my life. Just looking for thoughts on my diagnosis and treatment decisions. Thank you very much for your time; sorry this is so long! Julie Davis jules12@webtv.net
