Dear Karen,

I am not a doctor I just thought I would share. With all due respect to Dr. Bernard, IDEALLY all the gas comes out completely, and I am sure the Drs do what they can too get it all out. I had two laps done last year for adhesions and infections after my c-section. In both cases I had excruciating reffered pain from gas remaining in my belly (2nd was worse than 1st) My left shoulder and diaphragm area killed. I could HEAR the gas rolling along as I searched for a comfy position. Well not to scare you, I was really glad I had the laps done. BUT you may want to discuss gas pains with your doctor and ask that he have a painkiller like 800mg Motrin or something IN CASE you do have reffered pain. I went home the first time with Tylenol which barely dented the pain. It helps to already have the prescription in hand that way you can relax and recover at home with out having to run back out for meds. Hopefully they can squeeze all the gas out of you...Uh doesn't that sound sort of funny? :) Hope all goes well with your laps.
