We have a saying in the early education field. If you're going to play in the sandbox - be prepared to get sand in your hair.

Translation: We are all human. We all have good and bad days, and we just have to communicate our way through the trouble spots.

I have had the pleasure to be a part of this forum since about a month after it went up. I've got to tell you, I think that the doctors, nurses, midwives, site staff and the women who participate in this forum all do a pretty fine job of answering questions in a thorough, supportive and empathetic manner.

We all bring something to the table. If we all pick up our toys and go home - no one learns. If we all can accept a little sand in our hair now and then - we can all learn.

If you're leaving, I hope you'll consider it a break and will give stop back again sometime. If someone says something that bothers you - approach one of the moderators (after all Barbara has had a good rest in Greece - she needs a little work when she gets back :-)

Finally, about the messages asking why it takes so long to get answers or posting messages right to the doctor. I think we have three options here. 1. Be willing to wait a day or so for an answer (and repost if yours is missed.) 2. Schedule an appointment with your own M.D. and pay for an extended office call and ask all the questions you want. 3. Spend the next 10+ years or so in medical school to get the answers you're looking for.

I'm not trying to be preachy or sarcastic but I think this forum is getting a bad rap (and I get a little protective) when I read posts that put it in such a negative light.

Thank you to everyone connected with the Women's Forum for all that you do, especially the M.D.s.

Now, anyone 'wanna build a sand castle?!

Holly P.S. David - if you think this is hard to handle - just be glad you don't have to go through labor :-)
