PID - Is there a CURE???

After many years of suffering with pelvic pain a doctor told me I have PID. I am not certain that his diagnosis is correct as, after many tests, he seemed to come to the conclusion by process of elimination. PID is a sexually transmitted disease. I have had the problems and pains since early childhood - long before sexual contact. I think it might be something else but I have been traumatized by the attitudes of two previous gynecologists and actually FEAR going to another. When I finally summon the courage to do so I would like to go armed with all information I can possibly have before hand. My question is this: CAN A HYSTORECTOMY CURE PID??? I cannot find any information linking the two subjects. Also, can the symptoms of Chrone's disease or bowel inflammation mimick those of PID? If so - why wouldn't I be tested for that as well?
