This is a pap smear where no dysplasia (precancerous change) was found.

Q> Inflammatory Cellular Changes are Present.

The cells of the cervix show some response to damage. That is usually from infection.

Q> Marked estrogen effect

Indicates that you are in the reproductive age group. The cells are well estrogenized due to appropriate levels of estrogen in the premenopausal female.

Q> Moderate to heavy inflammation

same as above. Sometimes this can obscure the pap smear and make it difficult to read.

Q> Endocervical material present

this indicates that the specimen adequately sampled the area of interest on your cervix. The endocervix is that part of the cervix that sometimes is inside and not visible during a speculum examination.

Q> endometrial cells present

The cells from the lining of the uterus were seen. This occasionally will happen. Uless there is some abnormality, this is of no concern.
