I obviously enjoy volunteering here or I would not do so, but I do get about 5-15 private e-mails from the forum a day, and simply cannot answer them. Busy Ob/Gyns typically are asked for medical advice about 50-100 (or more) times per day, ranging from easy (which antibiotic should we use for this bladder infection) to hard (should we do a c/section or not on the patient in room 3 with the following fetal heart rate pattern). Today alone I have received aver 50 pages, each one from a patient, nurse, or resident asking for medical advice. It's great volunteering here, but it's awfully frustrating to pull up your private e-mail account and find 10 e-mails all entitled "HELP-VAGINAL DISCHARGE" or "HELP-SIX MISCARRIAGES" or something similar. It's actually hard to *not* answer because most are very sincere and important questions. I appreciate Robertta's efforts, and am afraid that doctors or other health care providers newer to the Internet may be reluctant to answer questions when they find their e-mail full the next day. Thanks,
-- Ashley Hill D. Ashley Hill, M.D. Associate Director Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Florida Hospital Family Practice Residency Orlando, FL I apologize, but I am unable to answer personal e-mail due to time constraints.
