period last too longFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Oct 1997 09:56:43 -0600 (CST)
My periods come every 30 days or so. The only problem is is that they last too long. I don't have excessive heavy bleeding. Day 1-6 is a normal period, then I spot for up to a week after that. Is this hormonal? I am not on the pill and do not want to be, but wonder if there is anything else that could normalize my cycle. What sort of tests should I have done to figure out what the problem is? I have an appt. in early December for another pap smear, as I have to go every 3 months for past cervical dysplasia, my last one came back perfectly normal, but I want to know what to ask my doctor about and what tests I should have done. Thanks for any info.
