-- The placenta doesn't really "migrate" on the uterine wall. The uterus does grow and carry the placenta with it, usually upward as the lower uterine wall thins. At 31 weeks, you will have some more growth upward and there is a good chance the placenta will be more distant from the os at term. You didn't say if the infant is vertex (head first). If it is, then the fetal head will put pressure on that lower edge of the placenta, even if it is a little low at term, as the infant drops down near term. There is no way to know about further episodes of bleeding. The placenta is made up of about 15 codyldons (compartments). Each has separate blood vessels, so that even if one bleeds, the others continue to function. Like so many body systems, the placenta has "planned redundancy". Infants can get by on 50% of the placenta, but we don't like to "test it". Good luck.
