Updating on septum. (sorry Mrs. Marchbein!)

Dear Dr. Marchbein: I do hope you recovered from yesterday. Being trapped on the hard-disk really can be hard on a person! I have to admit that my questions to you about my septate uterus were really to check my suspicions that someone in the hospital has been asleep almost two years ago. I had just recovered from an ectopic pg (salpingectomy) as a hysterosalpingogram (that is how you call a 'contrast-photo?) was done to see the condition of the remaining tuba. Already then there was a suspcion of a septate uterus (I did'nt know it then, but have just found out), but no further tests were taken. It was decided that we try IVF. Now, almost two years and three failed IVF attempts (and after the IVF another ectopic pg), finally hysteroscopy was done and it was very clear: there is a very clear septum. In six weeks there will be an operation, laproscopic, to remove the septum. But in the meantime I'm already 42, so time is running out. I posted my questions as neutrally as possible because I do understand that you may not be comfortable telling people on the forum that their doctors (and your own colleagues) have done it all wrong. But still the question haunts me: did I lose two precious years of fertility?

I'm sorry this letter has been so long.
Thank you so much for your time, and thank your wife for
her patience!

A very gratefull Anneminke
