abdominal pain, cramps, irregular bleedingFrom: Kati (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 19 Oct 1997 20:27:57 -0500 (CDT)
I am in the military and went to the doctor on the 25 Aug because of bad cramping and a suddenly irregular cycle. A PAP was done and came back negative and I was told to take motrin and that it is probably psychological. I am 31 years old and have had 3 successful pregnancies. My cycle has always been 32 days long with bleeding lasting 8 days-the first 3 heavy and then the rest fairly light. In Aug I started to spot for five days in the middle of my cycle. Additionally I began to have lower abdominal pain that feels like a burning sharpish pain that radiates throughout the region and into the upper part of my thighs. The pain lasted for 4 days before my bleeding began. During my period I passed large clots of blood. My cycle happened the same in Sep. This month, my period happened 10 days late. Again I had the pains as before. However after my bleeding started my cramps have not diminished. I am going back again to the doctor but I was wondering if I could give them a few suggestions as to what is wrong with me and requests tests by name. Often we are sent to see doctors that know nothing about gynecology. My last doctor was a dermatologist. But he is my assigned provider. Thanks
