abnormal pap/colposcopy/biopsyFrom: Madalene (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 15 Oct 1997 16:00:47 -0500 (CDT)
Recently I had a pap smear that came back with "abnormal cells" and my doctor said I should have a colposcopy done. What causes an abnormal pap? Can being on Depo Provera cause any problems?? This is the first pap I have had since my postpartum pap 16 months ago, and the last one that I had before that was about 5 years ago when I had an ovarian cyst rupture. Is it possible that something could be seriously wrong and not have been picked up on the last pap? I guess I'm just looking for reassurance mostly, because I'm scared silly.. My maternal grandmother died at 32 from cervical cancer.. I guess I'm just scared that something like that will happen to me.. well thank you in advance.
