I have never heard or read this before. It is possible that the lab or labs in a specific part of the country might have a higher than average positive rate for this test. However, the test is supposed to take in account a number of factors (including age). I have not seen this situation in our area, and the majority of AFP or Triple Screen tests come back negative, regardless of age.
