My OB/GYN has said that everything appears to be normal. Is the presence of risidual hymen tissue easily recognized? >Are there any treatments or corrective measures I or my OB/GYN can take to remedy this painful situation. Can 4 years of oral birth control be causing this?

The most likely cause of your problem is an involuntary cramp of your muscles. This is not an anatomical problem and not caused by oral contraceptives, but a sexuological problem. You need counseling by a sexuologist. By the way, it is a rather common sexuological problem, and it can be cured completely.
