Dear Sherry,

First let me tell you and your mon that I am sorry you received the news of the need for a bone marrow transplant. Your fight is near and dear to my own heart as it was just one year ago I was fighting my batttle with this disease. This is a tough one to face up too and I wish the outcome of the surgery had been better.

I am inclosing a some very good links for you to explore that can give you a lot of information on this procedure.

I have many friends from my Breast Cancer Support group that have had this done and most all have had excellent results. It's a long tough road and less/more for each person. Some women do not have a lot of problems and of course there are those that do. I personaly know a women in her 30's with two young sons that had this done a couple of years ago and she is here doing well and living and enjoying life with her family.

It's Not Easy and I would be a liar if I led you to believe it is. You mother has two wonderful things going for her:

1st, and most important YOU...your love and your husbands and the strength she derives from that can Not come from Any other source.

2nd, Vanderbuilt University Medical Center...An Outstanding school of medicine with some of the finest physicians in the world...so... she is in excellent hands.

The decission to do this is hers ; but it does work and I my opinion is it's Not just being a guinie pig (sp). She Must ask many questions and get answers to all of them and then Make Her Own Decission.

Good luck and I would like you to keep in touch with us about how all of this goes. You and your Mon are in all our prayers
